I have never found Franken to be funny.
Egotistical smartass, cheap shots, and other garbage.

So it's hilarious how Fox "News" who always whines about frivolous lawsuits is filing a really asinine frivilous lawsuit.

...and would laugh if he read the phone book, but I can see where he would put some people off. (Just like I can't stand Michael Moore's personality although I respect (some) of his views.)

Inexplicable.

6. What? You did LOVE 'Stuart Smalley saves his family'?
Edited on Wed Aug-13-03 03:41 PM by underpants
Everyone's tastes are different. I have seen him do some very funny things and some not.

The classic was on the oooold SNL when covered up parts of a Frankenberry cereal box and claimed that General Mills had stolen his mouth (bottom), glasses, (middle), and (covering up all but the top of its head) his BUTT. It was very funny.

AS far as the Fox thing goes he doesn't need to write any material those stooges are taking care of that for him.

7. ...also the catch phrase "How does it affect me - Al Franken?"
I still use that phrase today, simultaneously aging myself and annoying anyone within earshot.

But it's funny, so it's worth it. :-)

13. Remember when he and Tom Davis had their little Franken and Davis shows?
I thought a lot of those were brilliant, like the one in which they claimed to be Trotskyists and chatted up the revolution. And one in which Franken had a brain tumor and was struggling to tell a joke, but he forgeot the punchline and had to be revived with a splash of water in the face. Meanwhile Davis is biting his fingers trying to keep himself from crying and encouraging the audience to applaud to keep Franken's spirits up.

11. Al's cool in my book

Fox must hate anyone named Al

Al Gore tasted their wickedness, now Al Franken? Hmmm I smell an anti-Al conspiracy!

Yeah I know fox hates everyone, except the richest of the rich.

Also don’t forget
F is the 6th letter in the alphabet
O is the 15th and 1 +5 = 6
X is the 24th letter and 2 + 4 = 6
FOX could be said to carry the Mark of the Beast 666

12. Way back, when he did the SNL 'one man mobile satellite uplink' bit....
....for the election and gulf war coverage there was a great moment when he passed out in the desert and the signal faded to snow. The next shot you could just make out that his head had rolled to the side just enough to get the signal back as a live vulture started picking at his face! LOL! Still makes me laugh just thinking about it! :)

Well if you're not into humor, how about this? :spank:

16. As a writer, he's a genius
He and Tom Davis wrote the landmark "Last Days of Nixon" sketch for the old SNL, with Aykroyd as Nixon and Belushi as Kissinger, on their knees praying together in the Oval Office.

Maybe you're reacting to his onscreen persona, which I find pretty funny, but many find annoying.

Also, I must point out with great regret that Al's not a terribly good actor. He briefly had a pretty funny sitcom, "Lateline," but I found his character excruciating to watch.

18. The single best 10th of a second on televsion - the air bag going off
...in Al's face.

Yes, I'm the guy who watched LateLine. At least that episode. The "crew" of the show had the airbag explosion on a loop. Hilarious.
