So vast it cannot be named.

So encyclopedic,
it can't be comprehended,
except in parts.
I dread the future.
Not because it is hopeless,
but because the price of hope is so high.

Great things do not perish in a flash.
But rather, fall slowly
like trying to avoid
a cat in the kitchen.
We are slipping,
between the fridge
and the water dish--
and we better start
fumbling for a handle.

I hoped for a different world
than this one.
Now I only hope
to live through it.

America is a clown,
juggling bottles of nitro
in the back of a pickup.

And everyday,
there is the dread --
We ain't never seen it
as bad as it is going to get.
