I couldn't get out of bed because of allergies today
I feel for everyone else out there who is suffering too.

It's just that the neem trees are so concentrated outside my villa, it leaves me almost paralyzed every morning. I wake everyday (medication only tries to beat it back) with swollen and/or matted eyes, migraine, sometimes stomach irritation, phlegm, skin irritation and swelling, and about 0 energy.

I can't move even temporarily and I can't cut the trees down because I don't own them. And, nothing I take makes it all that much better.

Oh yeah and severe allergies can also make you depressed!

Anyone else suffering these days?

2. Praying for heat and dust storms to kill the neem blooms

3. I've been there!
The only thing that works for me is onions and cucumbers. They're both anti-inflammatory. When my allergies are killing me I make a frittata or a quiche for breakfast then do a big bowl of Greek salad and eat it for the rest of the day.

Junk food makes my allergies worse which saps all my energy which make me only want to eat junk food and on and on.

Try cutting out all sugar (all carbs except fruit if you can manage it) for a few days and have either onions or cucumbers with every meal.

I had major, major allergies in my early twenties but haven't needed to take medication in probably seven or eight years.

You live in the UAE don't you? Can you get LemSip there? It's the bomb for sinus congestion.

4. Yeah, we have Lemsip... will give that a try for the sore throat and congestion
For me, at least, with the neem trees the big problem is with the eyes, skin, and wheezing from lungs... They are truly awful for me.

I am currently taking...

Cirrus- Once per day
Claritine- once per day
Advil cold and sinus (active ingredient pseudoephedrine) as needed

The cirrus is total crap for the neem trees, so will just probably stop it and take two claritine per day.

I can break out the heaviest artillery... the allergy drugs strictly for asthma, but I really don't want to be a zombie on top of the allergies. However, that's a balancing game... If it gets too bad will have to take them. UGGG!

The downside is the blooms will be with us at least two more weeks. The trees flower over about a 4 week period.

5. Does your claritine contain D?
Check amount of pseudoephedrine in Advil, be sure you're getting ENOUGH pseudoephedrine. Has helped me a lot for congestion, not necessarily related to allergies.

You refer to heavy artillery for asthma, but I'm wondering whether you're addressing neem allergy well enough. (NO DOC here!)

GOOD LUCK

6. Heavy artillery is Zaditen... the Claritine doesn't have the
pseudoephedrine, that's why I take the Advil+pseudo. Also, the advil helps with headache, etc.

Broke down and bought the spersallerg drops for the eyes. That should help some. I try to avoid it as it 'can' give me dry eye which leads to pink eye! Uggh... always a catch-22 or side-effect with allergy meds.

medicated sprays. Don't know about drops. Can you get an additional drop, for after-allergy-drops?

FYI, 'A warm saline spray can help unblock sinuses when you're getting over a bad cold. Most pharmacies stock it. Avoid the medicated sprays if you can, they're astonishingly habit forming, just a few days of them can leave you with rebound congestion that's worse than the original.'

Feel SO BAD for you. Do pharmacists there help, with info?

8. Sinuses are not the worst of it with the neem trees
The meds can handle that pretty well. What they don't handle are the auto-immune reactions... swelling, irritation, wheezing...

And yes, I have tried netty pot with saline and it really doesn't work for me.

I have some special issues with the sinuses anyway as I have scar tissue from an accident that leaves it partially blocked anyway.

9. Worst they've ever been
This year has been dreadful for my allergies. The headaches are the worst but I'm also just so tired. Today I've even been sick to my stomach (but I'm not sure if that's from the migraine or from OD'ing on allergy and headache meds. :( )

Tough year. Hang in there.
