Does anyone remember Dr. Eugene Scott...
he was this batshit crazy televangelist that was on in the late 80's at bar time...

he used to play this song, Kill a Pissant for Jesus:

Kill a pissant for Jesus
Grind them right through the floor!
Kill a pissant for Jesus
And then kill one pissant more!
Be sure to give God the glory
For knowledge that sets spirits free!
And kill a pissant for Jesus
Then kill a pissant for me!

1. In later years he used to show vids of women dancing seductively.
That was a strange, strange thing to see. His widow keeps on with the preaching and is a stone babe.

2. Yup...We'd get stoned and watch him in college...but it was the late 70's for us...
He was funny enough back then, but it looks like he got even more insane by the 80's.

3. Yup, I'd sit up late night in the 80's and watch him on the cable TeeVee, he was great
and I am very sorry to all offended, but compared to many of my current Christian brethren on our right, He was right.

4. My brother used to love watching him
rambling hours of TV

My brother was, and is, and alcoholic. This was back in the day when "talk radio" was actually that-talking, not screaming at you.

What a different world.

Dr. Scott seems lucid in the world we live in now. AND he looks remarkably like Tom Petty.

11. Crooks & Liars posted this just the other day:
Too funny

Digby makes an excellent connection between Glenn Beck and Dr. Gene Scott. If you haven't seen Scott's broadcasts before, check out her post, it's a very bizarre experience. He's no longer with us, but when he was alive he would go into these religious rants for a while that included black boards and whatnot and then your TV suddenly cuts to hot young girls riding around on horses with a telephone number scrolled across your screen to send in money.

I'm waiting for Beck to run a donation scroll on his broadcast. Yes, I know he pushes gold all the time, so it wouldn't shock me if he eventually does it.

13. I used to watch him often. He passed away in 2005.

He was unusual among the televangelists in that he had an earned doctorate (Ph.D. from Stanford University, 1957).

16. Ah, those were the days
the FCC actually pulled his licenses, in SF, San Bernardino, Hartford and elsewhere. (Yes, he had several entire stations of his own. :scared: ) Imagine what one of his successors would have to do now to make that happen. :eyes:

17. Oh yeah I remember him. What a grade-A nut!
I used to watch his show occasionally and sat there amazed someone so crazy could be on tv. Maybe if I'd have been drunk his rantings would make more sense but somehow I don't think so.
