Lindsay Lohan Owes More Than $500,000 In Credit Card Debt

http://www.radaronline.com/exclusives/2010/04/exclusive-lindsay-lohan-owes-more-500000-credit-card-debt

Lindsay Lohan has been hitting the party scene hard and hasn't done much work since her last film Labor Pains, which went straight to DVD. Despite her lack of income, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively that she hasn't cut back on her spending and is now over half a million dollars in debt.

"Lindsay owes credit cards $600,000," a source tells RadarOnline.com of the troubled 23-year-old. "One card cut her off last week and it's only a matter of time before all her other credit cards cut her off too."

Lohan used to make a good chunk of change by doing club appearances, but as RadarOnline.com previously reported the invites are becoming sparse and the starlet gets only from $5,000 to $10,000 at most.

Lohan's financial woes are nothing new but the severity of them is. She recently made headlines when it was reported that the actress was two months behind on her rent, prompting her landlord to threaten eviction. Lohan allegedly paid $23,000 to catch up and stay in her place.

1. It is a shame too. She could've been something.
I think she probably has decent acting chops, but it just goes to show what that kind of lifestyle can lead to. She has made a joke of herself, and rehab? Please, she has already said it is like vacation. I hope she can get her act together before it kills her.

2. Could it be "too much too soon" for some of these young actors and actresses?
To be a "celebrity" with lots of attention, adulation, money and the attendant ass-kissers, before you even really have the opportunity to find out *who* you really are as a person? To be able to mature at a reasonable pace? I'm not really surprised that so many of them go off the rails.

3. Absolutely. And not having the best parental guidance certainly didn't help.
No one to tell them no and lots of money to blow through. Doesn't surprise me either.

4. And it many cases the parents living vicariously through their kids.
Wanting to see their own failed aspirations fulfilled. The kid as a vehicle for their own thwarted hopes and dreams. Sad.

Hi Shell Beau! :hi: How's the baby?

8. Yeah, she seemed more talented than average as a kid actor.
Smarter, even more mature. Sad to see.

On the other hand, in the world she lives in, 500K is just a job away. I'm sure a nudie mag would give her a mill for an expose without any real work, and I wouldn't write her off completely for a more legite role. People love a comeback and a good reform, so if she could get someone in a big budget film or an artsy small budget film she can handle, she can make that up in no time.

Look at Britney Spears, who a couple of years ago looked like an insane wreck on the verge of the dead pool. Now she's on top again, and we realize that half her "meltdown" was just brilliant PR work. Lohan has at least as much talent as Spears.

It's funny, but when you watch these kids grow up and see your own kids watching them as children, you start to see them as somebody's kids, and not just pop icons to laugh at. Every time I see her I think of the cute kid in "The Parent Trap," and just want to see her make it. I sometimes wonder if the jackasses who taunt her are really just heartless fuckwads, or if they are sad to see it, too, and that's just their way of handling it.

15. Well, she's been copying RDJr's life pretty well so far...
so maybe there's still a remote possibility she can turn this around.

7. Lender risk management FAIL.
I feel sorrier for her than I do for the credit card companies. Lohan hasn't had a successful film or song in years, she's been in and out of treatment (according to even the mainstream media) and hasn't been a good bet in a long while. Why did the credit card companies continue extending credit to her? It's a shared risk gone bad. I'm always gonna feel worse for the sick or irresponsible (or both) human being than for a giant company that had ample evidence of unacceptable risk.

12. This is all she knows. She's been in it since she was a tot.
There is still a chance for her too. She can pull out of this, but she has to want to and work hard at it. Her parents are to blame mostly, IMO. They failed her. She is an adult now but barely. It is a sad situation.

14. my parents failed me by beating the crap out of me
asking me to feel sorry for someone whose parents failed her by giving her EVERYTHING including fame and fortune is too much, shell beau

nobody cared that i was abused, nobody cared abt lots of kids i knew who were abused

asking me to care that lohan was spoiled and pampered is just too fucking much

it's people like her, the very rare person who can't handle having a good life, who gives the abusers a million excuses to abuse

she had everything, you have never had a day where you had everything, nor have i, now she gets to join the real world, what's sad abt that i can't imagine unless you really think there is a class of people who deserves better treatment than the rest of us

16. No one is asking you to care.
People are just stating their opinions. I enjoy watching movies/television and listening to music. When I hear these stories, I always hope for the best, regardless of income. But that's just me.

19. I never asked you to feel sorry for her.
As for your last comment, I have no clue what you mean. I certainly never said anyone deserved any better treatment than anyone else.

20. You make a lot of assumptions
Who says her parents pampered her and gave her everything? You have no idea what her childhood was like.

13. Half a mil charged on plastic and spending $12,500 per month on rent?
It is kinda hard for me to feel too much sympathy for anybody living that rich lifestyle. Tell me she's eating pasta and beans, and living on an SSI check and THEN maybe I will manage to feel bad for her.

Jeesh. Welcome to reality, Lindsay.

21. Catch-22
I think the more crazy stuff she does, the less likely she is to get a job. And the fewer jobs she gets, the more likely it is that she will drown her depression in doing crazy stuff

She used to be talented. Hell, she might still be. It's weird; Mean Girls came out in 2004. Who would have thought that LL would be the LEAST successful actress in that movie
