I just baked a lemon cake for my 15 year old daughter's birthday!
Her birthday was actually yesterday (Earth Day), but we're doing the cake on Saturday when her grandparents and eldest sister will be here. The eldest is hitching a ride with them from college. She doesn't know it yet. I'll let the middle daughter do the decorating tomorrow morning. Yes, lemon icing.
I did the cake in a glass casserole dish (13x9 - elliptical). It looks cool.
5. Sure. It is on the back of the Duncan Hines Moist Deluxe Lemon Supreme cake mix.
I cheated.
1 1/3 cup water, 1/3 cup vegetable oil, 3 large eggs Preheat to 350 Grease & flour pan (cheated here too - used Bakers' Joy canola/flour spray) Blend for 30 seconds on low then 2 minutes on medium Bake 35 minutes (for glass 13x9 pan) Let cool 15 minutes in pan on rack Cool completely before frosting
I bought the frosting in a tub stuff too - also lemon.
Baking isn't my gig. Stove top and casseroles are.
