Why do they make walk-in fridges that can't be opened from inside?
I was just watching a "Desperate Housewives" repeat where two of the characters are locked in their restaurant's walk-in refrigerator by robbers. They had to spend the night there. I think if I owned a restaurant, I'd insist the walk-in refrigerator or freezer could be opened from the inside.

2. I've never seen one that couldn't.
The pub I worked at had a handle that you pushed from the inside that popped the outside latch.

3. I doubt they do anymore.
I used to work for a fast food joint about 20 years ago and there was a way to open the door of their fridge from the inside.

6. Why do they make basement doors that stick constantly?
Why do they make elevators that randomly get stuck between floors?

15. I wondered about the elevator thing in movies and TV
They always seem to get stuck between floors. And bank vaults can't be opened from inside either.

7. I worked in restaurants and hotels for about 18 years
many years ago at many different properties, all walk-ins had either a lever that that unlatched the latch, or a mechanism that pushed the handle open.

14. I don't think there ever was
back in the 50's even they had a round lever to push that worked the latch. Like they said, it's plot convenience. Hard to believe there are writers who never worked in a restaurant, but there must be.

16. All they have to do is have the robbers block the door
I hate it when writers are lazy.
