Actress Lynn Redgrave Dies at Age 67

Lynn Redgrave, an introspective and independent player in her family's acting dynasty who became a 1960s sensation as the freethinking title character of "Georgy Girl" and later dramatized her troubled past in such one-woman stage performances, has died. She was 67.

Her publicist Rick Miramontez, speaking on behalf of her children, said Redgrave died Sunday night at her Manhattan apartment. In 2003, Redgrave had been treated for breast cancer.

Her death comes a year after her niece Natasha Richardson died from head injuries sustained in a skiing accident and just a month after the death of her older brother, Corin Redgrave.

2. terribly sad for her family, and particularly rough
coming only a little over a year after her niece's death (Natasha Richardson) and a month after her brother's (Corin Redgrave).

Hell of a time for the Redgrave family. Can't imagine how hard it must be for Vanessa, losing her daughter, and younger brother and sister in such a short time.

I knew she'd had breast cancer, but didn't realize she was still battling it.

(Georgy Girl), and she was considered a parvenu, well, not that given her family connections, but the sickly scion of her family tree.

Yet, especially in Gods and Monsters, I see her as a WONDERFUL (with Brendan FRASER) vehicle/vessel.

Thank you, Lynn.
