2. I hope you are listening to the progressive era.
I am partial to Razor Face, Holiday Inn, Rocket Man, Levon and Tiny Dancer. He had some damned good music around that time.

I like his other music, but not as much as his early 70's stuff.

3. That happens to me too
For me, it's Yellowbrick Road, Honky Chateau and Don't Shoot Me.

When Elton John gets stuck in my head, it's usually Mona Lisas And Mad Hatters.

I went through adolescence with Elton John, his music will ALWAYS have a place in my life. Hearing his music instantly brings me back to that time and place. Sigh.

4. LOL - I just re-bought a copy of
the "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" LP. I love that album!! I had it for years and lost it in a fire.

Enjoy your Elton phase!

6. As long as you don't don the Donald Duck costume, you'll be fine.

8. You could do worse
This song, "Bennie and the Jets", never fails to revive memories of my freshman year in college. It was on the radio all the time then. To me, it is the quintessence of Elton John.

11. Saw Elton John in 1971 or '72...
.
...my first concert as a "big boy" (actually MiddleFingerMomMom
took me to my first -- a regional band called "Me and Dem Guys").
.
My MOM!?!?!?!?
.
I spent the whole show pretending not to notice who the square
old lady was sitting next to me.
.
Elton John, Mich State Univ auditorium of some kind... people
smoking dope RIGHT OUT IN THE OPEN (I was convinced we'd all
be arrested after the show).
.
He was a ROCKER!!!! This is before he went Rock Lite (IMneverHO).
.
And my favorite album of his is a little-known gem called
simply "11-17-71" for when it was recorded live in a studio
with 100-200 people in attendance(?)
.
BEST version of "Honky Tonk Women" EVER!!!
.
And "Burn Down the Mission", too -- always my favorite of his,
I think.
.
