Lady Gaga perfected the music video
"Telephone" for example

There's everything

Product placement (Virgin Mobile)

Men's Prisons done in a Women's Prison fashion

Sex, as it should be

More sex, as it should be

Even more sex, as it absolutely should be (we're talking rock, not the priesthood)

On the musical front, there are nods to everyone from David Bowie to Madonna to Gwen Stefani

---------------------

I am not a fan, btw. I think she has more talent than your average popstar, but she is still a popstar

On how it is the best advertisement ever

Do you remember when Brit and Madonna kissed in bride and groom atire? Lady Gaga is their child ! Telephone is I think something Ms. Brit would have made if she matured instead of flipping out. Lady Gaga obviously grew up listening to Xtina Brit and Destiny's Child . I think sh has potential although right now I think she relies too much on spectacle and controversy. Sher feels more like a personality rather than a character.I really want her to develop more because I really really want to love her and her music because she is so fun abut for me she still has room to grow I shall stick with my Goldfrapp Little Boots and La Roux for my electro pop fix

4. Funny you mention Brit
Telephone was original recorded by Britney. I actually first heard of Lady Gaga when she did an interview where she mentioned Britney recording a few of her songs. Telephone was meant for Brit's Circus CD but it got cut from the final track list. Britney's demo of Telephone actually just leaked but the finished version hasn't been released. Britney was also asked to sing on Telephone once Lady Gaga decided to release it herself. There was a dispute between the record companies and Beyonce was asked to sing on the song instead.

I agree with this part of the article:

"As a music video, Telephone is thoroughly mediocre"

I was disappointed with video. She's trying too hard to be edgy/shocking. It just didn't work for me.

17. Well...yeah!
I mean, what use is a music video if it can't carry itself

And in today's world of product placement this, product placement that - why not just be SO OBVIOUS about it that it becomes a joke? The heads won't notice, so why the fuck not?

And, of course, if you are a sexual icon as Lady Gaga is surely to be (sorry, Madonna, but people 100+ years will be talking about THIS video, not yours') - why not just go all the way?

Electrical tape in X's on the tits, thong underwear, bull dyke (in a good way) prison guards, sex-driven lesbians on the blacktop - I mean, come on, could you design a better sex fantasy for the majority of the populace?

And then throw in some better than most techno, and you've got American Decadance in a beautiful, wonderful way.

This hits every button, in a way that only The Beatles, Monty Python and Star Wars have done!

2. eh. I prefer her Bad Romance video
Not too interested in product placement.

The numerous looks she adopts through the Bad Romance video is rather interesting, IMO.

And the damn song gets stuck in my head regularly.

3. Its all tied in together
Product Placement - Infectious sound - true jungle beat = true decadence

And decadence is what Rock and Roll is all about
