But I agree with your statement.

Interesting...

Is this the cover or is the Sublime version the cover?

7. Fucking hippie freaks--you all disgust me
mainly jealousy of course, since my body no longer tolerates the presence of the ol' reeferino. Been quite a few years now...
unrelated----ran into Sam's old girlfriend on Friday and mentioned my occasional correspondence with you; that you'd worked with Flash etc....she was curious as to whether she knew you. If you ever feel like PMing your name I'll run it by her; her name is Mary; don't know if Sam ever introduced you to a girlfriend by that name. She used to go with him to blues festivals like Davenport Iowa etc and I think spent some time with him in Tulsa because I think she'd said that she knew Flash...and she was also interested when I mentioned ( hope I'm even remembering this right) you having done Sam's last recording or something...

10. But then son, you will have your revenge
because they will then insist that the now-ensnared musician will give up playing and get a real job.

12. I love Sublime's version.
"She was living in a single room with two other individuals. One was a male and the other was a female. And further more Susan I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they habitually smoked marijuana cigarettes. Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeefers." :smoke:

13. Honestly, that's the ONLY part of Sublime's cover that I liked. and...
.
...I'm PRETTY sure that was just a segment from "Reefer Madness" or
one of its contemporaries (my favorite was "Marijuana -- The Devil's
Weed" from the late 20's-early 30's -- a talkie where the "pusher"
was dealing joints out of the hollowed-out heel of his shoe and all
the young women ended up skinny-dipping and one of them drowned --
proving, of course, that pot kills).
.
By the way, the remake of "Reefer Madness" into a musical was one of
my favorite films that year -- I DEFINITELY recommend it (resisted
saying "highly recommend" -- I hope you appreciated that).
.
One poster asked earlier if it was Sublime's song. No... The Toyes
wrote it and recorded it long before Sublime's cover. The Toyes (if
I amember correctly) have some other worthwhile songs (at least ONE
of which -- "Green Doctor" -- is also about marijuana).
