Movies made/based/created on the ego of a "star" - that sucked.
I'll start:

Kevin Costner - Waterworld (which didn't have to suck but it did)

It's amazing that either actor can get a job now outside of cameos on CSI.

39. That was a good satire.
A lot of people went expecting a lampoon, but it was more of a satire about our culture, and people weren't expecting that. I thought it was well done.

I loved that book and hated the movie from the first five minutes on. Totally missed the thrust of the novel. Totally.

22. I think there's more to the story than we know
Ford could have signed on before there was a finished script. Probably had no insight/say on the final cut. And why wouldn't he place 100% trust in Spielberg and Lucas?

I loved the concept of a fourth Indiana Jones. But the execution was bad and the script was worse.

but I don't think him being in his sixties has much bearing on it. He's a pretty awesome 60-something.

17. In a couple of action scenes I was waiting for him to clutch at his chest.
He still looks good, but he doesn't have the moves any more.

The Jones movies have a reverse Trek curse -- odd numbered, great, not bad. Even, god-awful, boring.

40. Come on, that was the second best movie of that series.
Okay, yeah, that's not high praise, but why some people trash it as though it ruined Shakespeare, I don't know. After the first, the others were all big drops.

29. That's not really fair.
Rain Man was a pretty good flick, and I hear this Tropic Thunder is good. And I strongly recommend Eyes Wide Shut, despite the presence of Mr. Cruise.

33. Neither of those are "Tom Cruise" films though
honestly, I didn't realize it *was* Tom Cruise in Tropic Thunder until the third time I watched it. I just thought "who is this obnoxious twit and why is he getting so much screen time?"

And Rain Man was all about Dustin Hoffman.

41. You didn't like Magnolia? Born on the Fourth of July? Rainman? The Color of Money?
Valkyrie? Collateral? Interview With a Vampire? Jerry Maguire? Risky Business?

I swear, the guy did Top Gun and Days of Thunder, and everyone formed their opinion and never saw another film. If they'd given up on Johnny Depp that quickly, they'd still see him as a cheap horror flick star. And Cruise never, ever, ever did a film that sucked as bad as Once Upon a Time in Mexico.

47. I don't think he's a great actor by any stretch, but
I think he's been in quite a few good movies over the years. And, I think he usually knows what sort of role is a good fit for his limited acting ability.

Risky Business
A Few Good Men
Born on the 4th of July
The Color of Money
Jerry Maguire

48. Costner as Robin Hood
Before getting into the fact that he's not English and his accent sucked in the movie, the guy was all wrong for Robin Hood in terms of his acting.

He was perfect as Eliot Ness in The Untouchables, though.
