Right?

And I'll have no talk of stuffing me in a locker . . .

19. My BIL used to handle the Orville Redenbacher account...
.
...for his ad agency in S.F. -- Orville made his biggest
fortune in chicken shit for fertilizer. He also developed
an exceptional hybrid of popcorn. Multi-millionaire farmer
from Indiana (I think).
.
My BIL said that as hokey as Orville looked in those old
commercials, the production company doing the shoot would
actually have to dress him UP -- so what you saw was fairly
sophisticated compared to his norm.
.
Also said he was an EXCEPTIONALLY nice person.

4. Why would you want to?
With a possible exemption for tuxedos, nothing screams "tool" louder than a bowtie...

Exhibit A:

Your honor, I rest my case.

6. My father taught me to tie one years ago
My father, a trial lawyer, wore one every day of his working career except when he appeared in Federal courts. He had hundreds of them, most made by my sister. When he passed on, I selected a dozen to my liking and wear them with dignity and a fond memory of him; we had the same neck size.

to wear a clip-on with a dinner jacket. I know there are tools who wear them, but a knotted tie worn well does not a tool make.

11. you're on your own there
I can barely manage a standard tie (I generally have to refer to instructions on the web or have my wife do it), but I have no interest in wearing a bow tie.

However, I do have a friend from college who is quite fond of them.

17. I can tie a bow tie and wear bow ties when ever I need to wear a tie
I started years ago, long before that tool on CNN learned to ask an intern to tie his.

My bow ties used to really annoy one of my former employers. a lot. fortunately for me I was very good at what he employed me to do.

I have a fairly large collection of bow ties most of which I picked up a thrift stores.

44. Well played!
I have worn a bowtie pin on my lapel.

During the 1988 presidential campaign, I worked for the late Sen. Paul Simon. Paul was an awesome guy who was one of the few men of his generation who could rock a bowtie!

41. I wouldn't argue with that. Men's are much easier to buy also.
I would have thought men would have ditched neckties when women got rid of all the corsets and petticoats they used to willingly wear.

high heels, polyester fabrics, etc.

I sweat like crazy in women's clothes. I shop in the men's dept. whenever possible.
