After 36 years it was time to retire the old saw. I figured if the old one lasted that long some brand loyalty was in order when I bought a new one ;)

1. Nice. Sometimes I get power tools before I know what they do.

I wonder if there's a 12 step program for power tools? :P

3. I WANT ONE!
I don't actually have a USE for one, but what difference does that make? It is a POWER TOOL!

7. Lol
This is the smallest saw Stihl makes, 14 in 30cc. Don't need a big saw anymore, just clearing light brush, small trees and trimming limbs. Got it for $179 brand new at the dealer a couple miles from here :)

10. Can I borrow that to clean my fingernails?
Well it is a Stihl, so you get manly respect anyway. I've been thinking of getting one just like yours, mainly for light pruning. At 20 in & 64 cc, my MS 390 is a little ungainly for that type of work.

Congratulations on a fine selection!

15. It would clean your nails and then some
I was kicking around the idea of putting some bucks into the old 041 Farm Boss and reviving it but the work I have to do around my little 3/4 acre place just doesn't need that big of a saw and I'm getting a little long in the tooth to be holding that big SOB over my head to trim branches so this little guy is just perfect...and it's a breeze to climb with ;)

I had one tree I needed to drop out of my fence line and the little trooper made short work of it ;)

5. Hubby's in the market for a chainsaw. In fact, I think he was sneaking a peek at some when he
was supposed to be grocery shopping this morning. LOL

6. A piece of advice
When buying a chainsaw. When it comes to brands, there's Stihl and there's everything else. Husqvarna makes an ok saw, and Jonsareds isn't too terrible, but I've owned just about all of them, poulan , mccullogh, pioneer, homelite and so on and so forth. The whole lot of them can't make a pimple on a Stihl saw's butt. Yeah, you're going to pay more for a Stihl, but you're going to be cutting wood rather than working on the saw ;)

9. Sound advice.
I spent a long time in the fire service equipment business, and Stihl's were the main brand in service for roof ventilation and chop saws. Those guys depend on their equipment to keep themselves alive and to save your life. 'Nuff said.

11. Boy, is that right. We had to take down two trees to prepare our lot
for rebuilding (house burned down 2007). The tree guys--who are really the grading guys with saws--
showed up to do the job and couldn't get either of their two saws to work. Hubby, who had just bought a new Stihl, loaned them his and that's what they used to take down the trees! They talked about
replacing his saw--but we haven't seen anything yet--I told hubby they should at least get him a new blade.

14. no kidding
I'd say they should at least get him a new guide bar and chain. When I worked for Asplundh back in the '80s all we had were Stihl saws so we rarely ever had a problem with saws that wouldn't start.

13. Or a Daisycutter
If you have to clear a whole field.

It could annoy the neighbors, however.

As to the neighbors, I invite them for a good old-fashioned picnic to view the fireworks.

After all, the racist scum can't picnic at lynchings anymore...
