But the basic concept that the two sides pull at people can get someone to think on things.
The Masons have a saying, check your actions. Many times people get stuck in patterns, where they actually talk and do without really thinking. So stopping and thinking about what something is based on, what its intended effects are, destruction or creation, is one way I check my actions when thinking. Although not a Mason, I think that is a good idea and helps in things.
As far as being serious, I am going to keep getting more and more serious until things are set right, and since I am better off then most people, to set things right, I think it best to try to make the whole world better, something impossible for any person to do, so going to keep climbing the ladder or at least trying to think on that till things get better.
Although you are right, changes in thought patterns make normal thoughts less often, and need for full focus also makes those things less often. Very rarely do I think on just basic things, and since I chose not to destroy anything, the only way I can think to make things better, is to get more and more serious thinking more and more on it, since being a person there is no way to actually get anything done.
Besides, why would I be relaxed when I still have not seen proper justice in my real life. So weather possible or not, it has to change, and it seems seriousness is part of that.
Although I joke around alot and have lots of fun also. I do have much fun with music clips also.
So I could be right, or maybe you are, and maybe I should be less serious at times.
Hey going to play a song just heard on Keith, great tune, I use to listen to Billy Joel albums on paper route when younger, learned most by heart. And this song fits pretty good.

2 Timothy 1:7
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
