Call me sick - but I do this
When something bad happens to me, I go through gore sites - ones that show pictures of dead people, either from car accidents or murder - so I can convince myself my own lot is not that bad

Am I evil for doing this?

2. The car accident picutres, especially, which remind me how tenuous life is
How prone to annihilation you are at any moment, gives me the most hope

I am not dead. Yet.

18. As a car accident survivor
that took the life of my husband five months ago, yeah I think your evil and pretty sick. To think that somebody would take a picture of my dead husband with his head bashed in and put it on a website for sick, sad individuals like you, makes me ill. Every one of those pictures from your "gore" sites are of someone's father, brother, husband, wife, daughter, sister or child....and I personally think you should seek professional help. Buh Bye.

5. When Something Bad Happens To Me, I Tell Myself...
It's all Taverner's fault. Then I spit in your food. That usually makes me feel better.

11. it's certainly a bit strange but it has a logic to it
Edited on Fri May-21-10 05:22 PM by miscsoc
it's actually better than the reason most of us visit those gore sites, i.e. rubbernecking puerility

12. Concepts of lot are usually thought of in some moment of life.
Edited on Fri May-21-10 06:33 PM by RandomThoughts
Many use lot to defend wealth, some use it to stop trying to better themselves.

There is no way to know if your lot will be different tomorrow. How could poor to go to rich, or for rich to go to poor, within any concept of any moment of lot?.

Basically saying it is your lot, or someone else lot, means nothing since a person can not know what is part of their future tomorrows or even in the after.

So if someone says some situation is some lot in life, I know that means nothing but a way for a person to justify status quo, since 'lot' in concept of people, is saying things are as they should be, with no concept of change in things at some point. And there are many examples of changes in conditions for many people.

So if thinking that I have some lot, then I will be thankful for the good things, and know the bad things will improve, because my lot is not only today, but also the great things of tomorrow.

Found an interesting clip, it speaks of false rule and claims by those that want to be worshipped, and those that claim glory not theirs. It is also an interesting point on better ways. Although I again think fighting is being kind, in metaphor, but also standing for better ideals. So weather your current day is good or bad, nobody knows what tomorrow will bring.

As Metaphor of coarse.

And ask, what is golden, and who is serving each other, and who is it that thinks the strong should oppress the weak.

I think we were taught to serve each other to help each other up.

13. Yes, but the gore photo is the ultimate testament to failure
And in our failures, when we did all we could, and yet death happened anyway - we can take solace in that very selfish thought: we're not dead yet
