Do you make up your bed everyday?
At some point I stopped. Whenever I have company I quickly make my bed up but if nobody's coming by, what's the point?

1. Yep. Every day.
It only takes a few minutes, makes the bedroom look neater, and makes it nicer to get into bed again without having to straighten out the sheets and blankets.

Make? What's that, lol?

I rarely make mine either...

I'm usually in a rush to get someplace!

6. yes, every day. But I usually only have one sheet, then a
comforter with a duvet, so making the bed doesn't really take much time at all.

I like my bedroom to look nice, feel serene and calm -- messy beds irritate me. I don't get all uptight about how corners are done, or anything like that - I just like it casually tidy.

8. depends how you define making it.
I have a water bed, so I do throw the covers back up roughly to hold the heat in (functional), but sometimes it's pretty messy still. It's not what others might recognize as a made bed.

9. I pull up the covers and smooth it down
It looks better and it's more comfortable to get into (at least to me). Every once in a while when it's gotten really messy, I really make it.

14. when I was a freshman in high school
an announcement was made over the intercom. suninvited, please come to the office!

I was excused from class, and I went to the office where I was told that I needed to go home. I lived very close to the school, so I ran all the way home worried to death as to what kind of emergency there could be.

My mother met me at the door. "You didn't make your bed" she said.

I made my bed, and went back to class. Of course, curiousity prevailed and all the other kids asked me what was wrong. I sheepishly answered, "I forgot to make my bed this morning".

This was a joke for the rest of my high school years (small school, graduating class of 28) and rarely a day went by that I wasnt asked "Hey, suninvited, did you make your bed this morning"?

Hell, no, I dont make my bed today.

16. Since a young girl, I have always made my bed
Getting into a made bed is a nice little luxury to me and with clean sheets and fluffed pillows even more so. I straighten and pull the sheets straight before I get out of bed- makes making it up a piece of cake........and, yes, as someone mentioned, I like the neatness of a made bed- makes me feel better.

17. Yes, if for some reason...
I don't get it made in the morning (which is rare)I make it before I get in at night. I cannot get into an unmade bed. One of quirks. I can't go to be without a shower either...another quirk. :-)

Scrambling around on a king sized bed with two sides up against the wall is not going to happen first thing in the AM.

20. I noticed that you said you made it up when company came by...
So, you'd do it for the bedroom to look nice for others.... why not you?

Personally, It feels good to have smooth sheets from a made bed. I'm really not wrapped that tight, either... I'll let the cat boxes go 2 days (I have 2 for Mickey and his sister)

23. Nope, it's a guy thing. No reason to make it everyday, nobody to "make" me do it either.
I once worked with a woman who lamented about her 5 year old son who would never make his bed because he was just going to mess it up that night anyways. I told her that he was exhibiting perfect male logic.

This goes along with why guys do not clean behind things because if you cannot see it, how can it be dirty?

24. Yes.... and what got me into the habit was this:
A conversation I overheard many years ago...

Person A said: "Why should I make my bed? I'm just gonna go lie down in it again."

Person B replied: "After you take a sh*t, why wipe your ass? You're just gonna sh*t again!"

38. I don't sleep under the covers, so just fold up my blankie and
straighten up the pillows. So much easier. A neat bed makes the room look better. To me a messy house, just makes a person irritable. Life is so much better in a clean house.
