1. As a native Detroiter
I have to go for a member of the original six. Not one of those expansion teams :toast:

10. Completely agree!
I was hoping for a Final Four of all Original Six teams, so we'd be guaranteed a winner. Then I was really hoping Boston or Montreal would pull it off. Since they didn't - go Blackhawks!!!!

(I have an Original Six sweatshirt, and an Original Six hat, and it's really fun to wear them around Canucks fans).

2. Philly limped in on a last game overtime shoot out.
Chicago has been the cream of the league all year. But,you never know in a 7 game playoff what can happen. Hot goalie, hot goal scorer, major injury.

18. True, but they sure as hell weren't limping in the playoffs
Just ask a stunned Bruin or Hab

21. Bruins and Habs were weak sisters in a weak division.
But,in 7 games anything can,and usually does happen.

23. I bow to thy Cunuck-ness
and assume you have a superior knowledge of all things hockey. Seriously.

I haven't been all that up on the Flyers since, uh, 1974 and the Broad Street Bullies. Except to know that they had a very bad regular season this year, with all sorts of problems and injuries. They also had a very strong post season, weak sisters or not.

25. Flyers can win, this, don't get me wrong.
They got this far with Carter missing a lot of playoff games. I watch hockey a lot,tis true but claim no insight.

I think Michael Leighton has the obvious "cool looking gear" advantage:

7. Playoffs are an entirely new season of Hockey and Flyers are the hottest team out there
Of course I think after that come from behind 0-3 turnaround there is alot of luck there too and I hope that the luck train isn't anywhere near the end of the trail.

28. The Hawks are hotter
They were down in games 1-2 to Nashville in their first series. Down a goal in the final minutes of game 4 facing a possible elimination game in Nashville. Hossa gets a 5 minute major and they score shorthanded with 15 seconds left on the clock to sent it to OT. In OT they kill off the last 3 minutes of the penalty and then score to win it. Including that game they have gone 11-2 since, including a sweep of the conference point leader San Jose.

14. Here come the Hawks, the mighty Blackhawks.
The Hawks just defeated a very good San Jose team and held them to seven goals over four games. They have a mixture of veteran leadership and youthful enthusiasm. I think they have more raw talent on the ice than any other team. And it is possible for these Hawks to completely self-destruct at times; it is possible the Flyers will win in four. It is also possible the Hawks will win in four.

I think the Hawks will win in six, and end an almost fifty year drought. We'll be drinking Goose Island from Lord Stanley's Cup in just a couple weeks.

Anyway, there's this rash on my, um, hockey stick, so I had to pick Chicago.

24. Flyers in six.
Why? Because with the exception of the Toronto Maple Leafs, there's no team I hate more in professional sports. Not even Ottawa.
