What's your worst cable channel?

Mine might be Hallmark, and there's 2 of them. it's as interesting as their greetibng cards.

But if you asked 100 DUers as to what their worst cable channel is, Fox News would come up highly on top. A lot of "shopping channels" would feature as being a waste of space.

I cut it off about three weeks ago and haven't missed it. Now that MSNBC is on XM, I can get Rachel & Keith on audio. I do miss The Daily Show and Colbert but, even though I could watch them online, I haven't so maybe I don't miss them all that much.

Worst channels? Fox of course, golf, shopping channels, and the religious channels. But I don't have those anymore.

I have Hallmark channel, I think I have watched maybe 2 shows in 3 years of having the channel.

My husband makes fun of my Lifetime channels.

and anything to do with Religion. I simply put a block on all that crap.

Funniest shit on the tv, I swear I can't understand how people actually believe those crazy, strutting egomaniacs with hundred-dollar haircuts, bad weaves, and Italian silk suits and women that wear eighteen pounds of makeup, enough hair spray to create their own personal hole in the ozone layer, who scream out scripture and act possessed.

And the sets! The ones with principal characters sitting in thrones while the rubes get to watch a Jesus In Vegas stage show just kill me.

And the really hysterical ones are the children's biblical puppet shows. Creepy beyond belief; I swear all the people putting those shows on are closet pedophiles.

That seems like a given.

The Golf Channel. As George Carlin once said, it's like watching flies fuck.

All 2.487 shopping channels. No, I do not need a cubic zirconia-encrusted can opener, thank you.

HGTV. Yard work sucks. Watching other people do yard work sucks almost as bad.

MCAM (Manchester Community Access Media). Our local access station. Evangelical preaching delivered in Spanish and Creole, interspersed with right-wing freak shows and smear jobs. Your tax dollars (oh, sorry, "franchise fee" dollars) at work.

Not to mention the five or six dozen "God Channels" on the dial.

Honestly, Lifetime movies are fucking creepy, and they've got an entire network devoted to airing them.

aka INSP, the bat fuck insane fundie channel, followed closely by EWTN (Although that one old fart nun was good for a laugh now and then.)

We have to sit the neighbor kids from time to time, and they always have that stupid channel on. I can't bring myself to believe what garbage is being pumped into kids' minds today.

Both are utterly useless.

In a month, when Breaking Bad finishes this year's run, I will declare them all useless and move to a life of DVD and instant view.

Fox is a given, but after that there's the golf channel, 2 shopping channels. We also have 4 Spanish language stations, which are of no use to me since I don't speak Spanish. (I find it strange that we have that many, since there isn't a large Spanish-speaking population in my town; I'm guessing the channel lineup applies to a larger region than just one town.) I'm also not thrilled with having all the ESPN/sports channels because I don't watch sports.
