It just might be time to hit the road
And I was wondering if you guys could help me out with a few ideas.

I'm a trucker and I've been a local driver for a while now. I used to drive long haul, but I came in off the road to settle down and try to start a family. But it's just not happening for me, and at 37 I'm afraid I'm getting a little long in the tooth to start having kids. A lot of women my age seem to agree. :)

So I'm thinking about buying a truck and hitting the road again. It's much more adventurous than what I'm doing now and there really isn't anything holding me here. I've got my condo for sale and I was thinking about buying a place closer to work, but I just might sell this place and not buy another. That's where you guys come in.

I want to be able to be gone for long periods of time, but I need some kind of arrangement to get the bills paid. I'll still have a cellular bill, truck payment, insurance, credit card, and such. What's the best way to handle this? I'm thinking P.O. box. Is there any kind of service I could subscribe to that would help me out with this?

1. online or automatic payments?
Hi,
I have always enjoyed your posts. You can't do online banking? Or have automatic bill payments set up with whatever bank you are using? A lot of those items you listed have electronic billing also. I don't see this being an issue as long as you have the money to pay them. Just a thought and it is late, keep posting and I wish you the best of luck.

Peace

2. Thanks hibbing
I appreciate the kind words about my posts.

I don't know about the credit card, but I suppose the others could be set up for electronic transfer. I'm not sure about that though. I've never done anything like that.

3. If you are going to have internet access
I would see if I could get electronic bills for everything and pay them on line. If that isn't an option, do you have a trusted family member who would let you have your bills sent to them? If my brother were going to hit the road, I'm pretty sure I would be getting his mail and probably paying his bills for him. :)

5. I would use a family member and that is the most logical idea

6. Well, mine is dysfunctional in many ways
but we would still help each other out. I have a brother and 3 sisters and am pretty tight with all but one of the siblings, but I'd still help her out.

9. You know, now that I think about
I do have a sister who is 12 years younger than me who I get along with pretty good who seems to be better adjusted than the rest of us. I don't know why I didn't think about her before. I guess it's because I don't see her much. I wouldn't trust the rest of my folks as far as I could throw them. :)

Thanks for getting my gears to mesh.

8. I am sure it is going to happen suddenly within the next 12 months , sometimes I feel those things
and I am rarely wrong.

Really can't explain it.
