What do you want people to say about you when you're not around any more?

How do you want to be remembered?

I've been thinking about this lately.

not only into himself, but into others as well; as someone who saw the humanity in everyone; as someone who knew how to keep a secret.

5. i dont really care what they say about me, but what i would like
is for those i love, when they think about me, to feel love, to laugh and giggle at things i have done or said. to feel good. to remember they had my unconditional love.

it really isnt about me. doesnt matter, i am dead.

but what matters to me, is how those i love gain something.

18. Reminds me of an old Jewish joke: At Jewish funeral gatherings, people
say little good things and tell stories of the good or notable things in the life of the deceased. The dead man had been a real bastard in life, and there was a long period of silence.
Finally, an old man spoke, "...His brother was worse!"

27. Interestingly, really interestingly.
I don't think I ever thought about that...

I do remember when I was being smeared years ago, one time a guy was hauling off a computer at work, and I remember him saying things, and my response was God will know the truth.

Maybe that is how I think on that topic.

Maybe that is why I don't think in terms of playing the game, great question...

36. I recall what Abraham Lincoln said about being remembered.
He said he figured the best thing to do is to be worthy of remembrance, and then hope for the best.

He certainly was worthy of remembrance.

I would only hope I would be remembered with some fondness and some sense of loss.

instead of everyone being all sad about it.

That said, maybe have a back room where the people who spurned my advances can go rend their clothes in secret, angst-filled regret and shed a tear for all of the awesome sex we might have had if they had better taste. :)

Seriously though, I don't really care. I want my significant other to find some kind of happiness, if she outlives me. But I don't care what they'll say; I'll be dead.

If there is no afterlife, then the things folks say won't even reach me. If there is one, I really hope I'm not forced to listen to what everyone is saying about me on Earth. Unless, that's my eternal torment. I guess boring conversations are better then being force-fed lava.
