Of course, I have a record and CD collection that spans the entire history of recorded sound (and fills about half of my 3-room apartment)!

that's all I have to say. Have you ripped them onto mp3 format yet? That would be a good way of organizing the all.

While I always enjoy these posts, I've noticed that this list doesn't even take into account the wonders of FM radio (save for the MC5, which is a 'whole 'nuther discussion... ) :)

Is this by design? If so, perhaps you should preface it by saying these are your favorite songs from the "AM" part of '69.

The classic stuff on the "FM" side in '69 is of course much different in scope, and I gather that while you weren't around during that era (well, at least not old enough to dance to "Day Tripper" in junior high) you seem to lean more towards the transistor radio side of the equation. Yes?

Progressive FM Rock didn't really get started until 1971-ish (when Mother Radio begain broadcasting to N'awlins).

We were all basically living off the AM band in '69.

And if you weren't listening to a station like WTIX in N'wawlins, you probably would have missed songs like Polk Salad Annie and some of the other fun songs on this list.

So, where'd you get the screen name?

That's been my nickname among friends since, oh, about 1971. I even wondered about suing the Dead (deep pockets and all that) but decided it would be Bad Karma.

Boy, did I hate that song. I was in junior high, and I hated that song. Still don't like it. :shrug:

I notice a lot of Creedence on your list; that band, I always liked.

This could be a playlist for AFVN radio. It's what we listened to in our HQ unit in Nam.

Heard most of those songs there!
