How do the seasons affect you?

There is just a little hint of Spring here (the snow has almost melted) and I find myself sighing...in a few weeks I think I will be taking the good weather for granted... in the Summer I will worry about thunderstorms...in the Fall I will feel like it's a death...in the Winter I hunker down and wait for the ice and the snow. What do you feel? And what do people feel who don't have the extreme seasons that we in NE do?

We get 10-11 months of hot and about 1 month of not hellishly hot. Okay it's not that bad, but it's damn close.

I love Texas in the Autumn, you can watch the birds turn brown and fall off the trees.

Seriously, it is GORGEOUS outside right now. When people ask for the best time to visit Texas, I tell them from March 15-April 30. And from October 1-November 15.

I don't even get to see the wildflowers.
When I lived in San Antonio, you'd see them all the time.
Any grassy part of the highway would be filled with them.
The drive from SA to Kerrville was always lovely.

And boy do I miss the Mountain Laurel trees.
They smell like grape jelly when they bloom.

once you get past Rockwall it'll get better. There are lots of wildflowers between Greenville and Sulphur Springs most years.

to avoid any attachment to Dallas. It is not in the plan to stay here. The plan is to get out to The East Bay area as soon as F-ing possible.

I do miss my hometown though. I guess you don't know how good something was until it's gone, huh?

I get hotter then colder, followed by hotter again. Sometimes I even get wetter then drier.

Grrrr.

Actually here in in NC we still have four seasons. Hot, fucking hot, Storm and Ice.

hot, really hot, hotter than hell, and 2 weeks of ice storms.

Compared to sleet and freezing drizzle snow is a breeze to drive on(if it melts quickly).I've seen freezing drizzle turn a road into glass and glaze my windows in a matter of minutes.

Just kidding...I think! :-)

If you aren't I have got some major "plumbing" issues to discuss with someone.

I really hate the extreme heat and humidity and I'm not really an outdoor person and in the summer one is almost obligated to be outside "doing stuff" and "enjoying the weather".

I'm enjoying the hints of spring right now and in a few weeks will be loving live.

I worship fall weather and have even come to love winter weather in that it allows me to stay inside hunkered down, guilt free.

I live in NJ and have pretty straightforward seasonal weather most of the time.

Except I don't live in NJ.

I'm not a big Spring person, seems like in Minnesota it just goes from Winter to Summer. We have about 1 week of Spring.

I get depressed in the fall. It usually last until the equinox. Those short dreary days. Once the days are noticeably longer it starts to lift. I absolutely love the long hot days of summer. It's 90 + degrees here in CA today. It's perfect.

I get very energetic with the coming of warm weather and sunshine. I think of and do all kinds of home improvement jobs, creative projects, trips to take. I'm more lively in general.

The coming of cooler weather signals me to hibernate and be very hermit-like. I do get SAD in the winter. I hate to be cold and I hate the diffuse short daylight.

I hate cold weather and I live in balmy Georgia. I know, I know. Call me a pansy if you must but there's the thing. The coming of Spring really energizes me. You've got the natural beauty, March Madness, Opening Day, etc.

I am glad to be going through the change where my tiredness and low mood is turning into energy and feeling better. Unless we move south a ways, I think that I will buy some of those special lights next year. Winter is so dreary in Wisconsin.

each one of them has their own special charm. I love spring with the wildflowers...especially the bluebonnets and buttercups.

Summer here is hot...really REALLY HOT. But that can be fun too. You run around in not much clothes. It's great weather for running through the sprinkler. And you can sit on your backporch with a tall glass of iced tea after sundown and listen to the crickets.

Fall doesn't last long here and it isn't quite the same in Austin as it was up in Northeast Texas. I love to go home in the fall and see the leaves turn. Here in Austin it's put on a UT sweatshirt and go to the game weather.

And I love winter. I love snow, even if we never get any here. I love big loose floppy sweaters and flannel sheets and wrapping up in the quilt my nanna made for me when I was little and sipping hot cider.

My default setting is to be optimistic and to try to find something to happy about. :)

Kidding...I like cold weather, so spring gives me the blues. I'm a New Englander living in Texas and it just gets too darned hot for me. My brothers always try to spin it with "Yeah, but it's a dry heat"
So is the surface of the sun.

I measure it by productivity with respect to writing.

Winter. I write the most. The cold air keeps me refreshed.
Spring. I write about 2/3rds as much as winter (more yard work)
Summer. I write about the same as Spring, but usually VERY LATE at night.
Autumn. I write 1/3rd as much as Spring because of the holidays and general runup to Christmas.

and "meh" the rest of the time. That's what it's like living in the Pacific Northwest. When I used to live in the South, I loved the fall, because it meant the end of the oppressive heat. Now, autumn is the least happy time of year for me.
