Men are weird!

Gives up a super job offer due to the fact that it is an hour and 15 minutes away. Then he says this cryptic thing. He said " I can't say it now, but please know that I do." What the heck does that mean. Well guys? What is going on in this fellow mans head?

But he is the one pressing to meet my family. And has written me far more that I have him.And he has called me twice as much. When it comes down to it who the one that needs to back off. I'm not ready for the "C" word or even the "M" word.

Is there affordable housing close to the job he left? If he moved closer to that job would it mean he'd see you less?

I'll bet the last question is something you didn't think of. Personally an hour and fifteen minute commute each way is not one I'd care to make.

Who are you trying to fool?!?!

He is in constant contact with you and wants to meet your family. Even if you don't think you're a couple, he certainly does.

I'm guessing "now" is "know."
He obviously wants to say "I love you." That was a trial balloon to see how receptive you are to the idea.

You might want to tell him to slow down or back off a bit before he gets in even deeper if you don't want a relationship.

Did you mean "I can't say it now, but please KNOW that I do". Not to put words in his mouth, but sounds to me like:

"I don't want to be that far from you. I don't want to say "I love you", so I can't say it now. However, ask me more about why I am turning down this job."

Frankly, that's a long long way to drive, so he would probably need to move. And maybe he feels the job is a poor fit?

Hm-m-m. I'm usually off in my assessments. Tell what really goes on as the situation unfolds.
