I've got a bitch about Ryko Disc CD Jewel Boxes
You know, the green ones? They are made of some inferior plastic, soemthing very brittle - they always break and crack and do all kinds of bad things. 14 or 15 years ago I thought, well, that is a manufacturing glitch, they'll figure it out - this is all new technology.

So, a decade and a half later, their freaking jewel cases are still shite. I seriously do not have this problem with any other label.

I love the green color, but geeeeeeez, wha tis going on there?

1. You're right. They're crap.

It pays to have a couple spares around. And the green does nothing for me. Better they use a higher grade of clear plastic than that garbage. What I really hate are the cardboard ones, though.

3. Wouldn't you think they are aware of the problem?
Do they never take their own product home? Has the mother of some artist said, "Frank, every time I pick up a copy of Zoots the thing showers me with bits of plastic"? I realize this example can't complain, but ya gotta think that someone has, sometime.

4. They probably save a couple cents a jewel box
And figure you'll buy their CDs anyway. What other option do you have? "I'll take this CD, and you can keep the jewell case."

7. Piss poor resin....too much regrind used to shoot them.
I think it's a HIP resin, hi-impact polystyrene, that is too brittle...probably using reground resin that beens cooked too many times.
