I've been in two bad motorcycle accidents (both caused by, ahem... car drivers) and
there is no doubt in my mind that both times my helmet stopped my brain from now
being a BROKEN bowl full of jelly.
.
I would not now have a mind to not have a doubt in.
.
Wear 'em!!!

1. There was a story last year
of a cyclist that actually had his head run over by the rear wheels of one of those duel-wheel pickups. His helmet saved him, though it was ruined. I'm not sure if the pickup driver was caught, because it was a hit & run accident.

2. I concur
Helmets on either a bike or a motorcycle is just common sense. I've had a wreck on each and walked away with nothing but a bad headache.

3. I am alive today
only because of a helmet... it is wise to wear one (I looked pretty much like that guy only my right leg was strung up and outfitted with an external fixator

I was laid up for a couple of years but I made it out alive and can still walk fairly normal!! graphic photo below of what my leg looked like (not my pic but this is pretty much what it was like)

4. from Jerry Seinfeld
"There are many things that we can point to that proof that the human being is not smart. The helmet is my personal favorite. The fact that we had to invent the helmet. Now why did we invent the helmet? Well, because we were participating in many activities that were cracking our heads. We looked at the situation. We chose not to avoid these activities, but to just make little plastic hats so that we can continue our head-cracking lifestyles.

The only thing dumber than the helmet is the helmet law, the point of which is to protect a brain that is functioning so poorly, it's not even trying to stop the cracking of the head that it's in..."

Not that I agree, I just think it's funny.

6. Yep. My son's best friend escaped death and major brain injury thanks to his helmet.

7. I reluctantly wear one bicycling.
I think of it as a crown and myself as King Dorko.
