Poll question: What actress should play CatWoman next?
I have no idea who the next villain will be, but CatWoman is going to eventually show up. So, who should play her?

1. Natalie Portman. She should be in EVERY movie...
...instead of just half of 'em like she is now.

3. Marion Cotillard

She'd be awesome. Also, she's worked with Nolan before on Inception, and she's a great actress which is the key to making such movies work.

5. Ms. Cotillard IS in the next Batman movie
Her character's name is Miranda Tate, but speculation is that she's actually Talia al-Ghul.

Anne Hathaway is playing Selina Kyle. IMHO, not the greatest casting, but there you have it.

10. Ass Backwards Casting
Sounds like the studios wanted a bigger name in the role of Cat Woman.

Nolan is an amazing director, but I feel at times that he pulls back a little in order to make his films appeal more to the mainstream.

12. A ton of people criticized the casting of Heath Ledger as the Joker
that turned out to be inspired.

So, I'm going to reserve judgement on Anne Hathaway as Seline Kyle.

19. prior to The Dark Knight
he was praised for Brokeback Mountain, but not much else. He was often considered a pretty boy & not a serious actor, which is why the casting of him as The Joker was widely criticized.

14. I usually trust that he has excellent judgment, but not with leading ladies.
Katie Holmes was the only thing bad in Batman Begins.

18. Is It Him? Or the Studio?
Sometimes a lot of casting decisions are made by the studio.

21. You may be right. But I would think he pulls enough weight now...
with the massive success of his movies (particularly the Batman franchise) that he can tell the studio to bugger off.

I'll reserve judgment on Hathaway as Catwoman. If only she weren't (IMHO) a terrible actress and didn't look like a human version of one of the puppets from the Thunderbirds.

17. Hey. "Bodyguard" was a damn good movie.
Actually, that's the only thing I can think of that I've seen her act in. Still, she played the role beautifully.

15. I'll agree with TuxedoKat about Jessica Alba
But I'll also vote for Angelina Jolie. She's got proven action-movie asskicking moves, she can be sultry and sexy, and has the tall, slender super-heroine build.
