1. Heh, who needs a plane ticket when you've got psilocybin mushrooms.
Shine on you crazy diamond. :)

2. Thank goodness you made this comment, bluesbassman!
I never would have gotten it. That's a rather vague mushroom in that drawing...

20. One of the COOLEST places to visit in the country is the Henry Ford Museum...
.
.
.
...outside of Detroit in Dearborn, Michigan. Haven't been there since the early 70's, but
every bit of Americana you could ever hope to see -- from a wooden baby spoon of some
early prairie settler family to a diesel locomotive half-a-block long.
.
.
One of the coolest museums EVER. Maybe still does... but had Colonial craftsmen making
their wares in outdoor stalls -- like a glassblower and a blacksmith.
.
.
.
Google Greenfield Village, too (right next door -- and maybe THAT'S where the craftsmen are.
.
.
.
Might be craftpersons now.

9. My dear MiddleFingerMom!
Ah, we're going to Iceland! Exotic, beautiful Iceland! I understand there's a lot of beautiful stuff to photograph, and I plan on doing a lot of that...

I didn't get the cartoon...

12. Iceland has some of the most STRINGENT immigration laws in the world...
.
.
.
...and, from what I've learned about Iceland and their quality of life, for
darned good reasons.
.
.
.
It IS beautiful -- I envy you and look forward to seeing some wonderful photos
once you get back.
.
.
.
In the 90's, I used to converse on the Intertubes with a young Icelandic girl
(maybe somewhere between 16 and 20) who had one of the most positive,
FEARLESS in-yer-face attitudes (without being an obnoxious asshole) that
I've ever seen.
.
Fun.
.
In another post, I recommended learning even just a little bit of the language
of any country you're going to visit. To make her laugh, I learned how to ask
for a hot dog with everything in Icelandic. From that point on, I think she was
as impressed with me as I was with her.
.
.
You'll find a series of short video lessons here. The one below has to do with
eating in a restaurant.

And this should be of SPECIAL interest to you, my dear CaliforniaPeggy -- it's
part of a series on "How to Cuss in Icelandic". This episode will teach you how
to say, "Go to hell, shitbag" -- a useful phrase WHEREVER you are in the world.

Iceland. Seriously -- a DREAM trip!!!!

16. It is!
:hi:

We really ought to adapt the British/Australian/NZ way of saying it, too. It's just so much nicer and appropriate:

"I'm going on holiday this summer!" :D
