I just don't always comment - not because I don't whink they're funny (I do), but only because I don't have anything useful to add.

Please know that I love your posts and appreciate how much effort you take to make us laugh...

If I could place myself in your imagination, it would be as a slightly harried woman who compulsively checks into DU during those moments between work and writing and family and friends and household stuff and my own little emergencies, celebrations and tragedies, and who always, always looks for your humor and wit, answering when I think I can contribute something worthwhile or add to the general mayhem.

But, Baby, sometimes I can't keep up. When others post a lot posts sink fast, and when I'm crazy busy I can't reply to everything, even when it's utterly laughworthy. You have to TRUST me on this one. I'm here and I know you're here and if it weren't for you I might be able to shake my addiction to this damned site...but you have to TRUST me.

I won't stop replying to your posts but sometimes I can't. And if it's not enough for you I'll be sad when you stop. But you have to TRUST me.

And I understand the people who rarely, if ever post to ANY threads. No problem whatsoever.

And I understand someone not having something witty to say and not posting to certain, or
most of my posts. Hell, I can't think of witty things to say about everyone's posts -- even
if they're HILARIOUS ones.

But when I get to 20... 30... 40... 50 and more views without a SINGLE reply (and a plain
ol' kick helps -- even just if it tells me that SOMEONE thought that post was worthy of
being viewed by others) the ONLY message I can reasonably assume (and I HAVE to
assume it -- that's the nature of this lack of communication) is that I'm not doing it right
and that I'm just fooling myself.

Some of my posts DO get many many MANY replies.

But if you look at others' posts that get ZERO replies... they're usually few and far between.
And quite often simply a song suggestion.

I generally post 6 at a time, morning and evening when I can. More and more lately, with
all those RARE zeroes elsewhere, 2 or 3 or even 4 of mine disappear to the back page with
zero -- and often the others just get 1 or 2.

I HATE having to post this. This is the second time -- and after the last time people
reassured me that they would let me KNOW if and when they liked 'em. That lasted
for a week or two.

I feel like I'm whining. Hell... I AM whining.

I enjoy the hell out of sharing this with you all. And many of you TELL me how much
you enjoy them. But not many of you SHOW me that. That's OK. You're certainly under

The last time I posted something like this, people went overboard the other way and my
posts were hogging the front page forever. Please don't do that. Don't feel OBLIGATED
to post anything just to post something. But if you see something funny that's sliding
down or off the page without any kind of kick/reply... let me know with EITHER method
that there was some value in what I did.

Okay, seriously, I get your point and frankly I wouldn't have your stamina for the world and all. I often find myself shaking my head and wondering how you could get paid for this stuff, but cheap entertainment seems to be the real purpose of the internets (the god "Humor" just uses it for a breeding ground).

We're spoiled. We're lazy. We're not sure if we're having a conversation or watching TV.

But that heart thing; it's real and it would be awful if you didn't stay around so we know you're okay.

(Don't you just love it when Lounge shit turns serious?)

You are loved by one and all. 95% of your posts are so right on that no one can add any words to your posts because you leave us wordless. We can not rec them because the DU gods have decided for what ever reason that the Lounge is a lesser universe than the rest of DU.

Would you have us find fault with your posts when there is none?? Would you have us just respond to increase our post count?? Just know that you make DU so much better with your posts.
