The Owl and the Pussycat.
Okay, I was a little worried about the owl at first, but darned if they don't seem to have it worked out.

1. Worried about the owl? OK
That's maybe the funniest thing I've read in awhile.

You've not seen owl talons then?

It's more the cat dancing with death in this case.

2. No, I've actually done rehab with owls.
These two aren't going after one another, clearly. But the capacity for accidental bone breakage is a lot greater in the owl when the cat leaps up and bats at it. I've worked with birds that had bones broken in some of the weirdest ways.

Since the owl's wearing jesses on its legs I assume it's generally captive and they're out under pretty strict supervision.

3. The affection between the pair is obvious. Thanks nolabear for this and working rehab.

I've donated to Pasado's Safe Haven here in my state in the past and this thread reminds me that I need to donate again.

4. Thanks. That's quite a bit in my past but I loved the work.
Lots of owls and hawks, mostly construction victims and cars. We got a lot of babies due to construction cutting down trees. I always wished there would be a law saying they had to clear land in the fall after all the babies had fledged, but that isn't going to happen.

Quite a few songbird victims of cats, too. They didn't fare s well as the raptors did, sadly.
