Let me explain it.
You are seeing it as only money mattering.
Yes a tariff will raise the price on goods, becuase cheaper goods made by exploiting labor, will be taxed.
If a country does not have values we agree with as a people, we charge extra to equalize the difference that lack of values used in that production causes.
If you can make something cheaper by 10% by using exploited labor, or pollution, then you charge 10% on those goods to level the playing field.
It is to stop race to the bottom.
It is not all about money.
Then when things cost 10% more in the USA, the companies that do have unions, democracy, and things like pollution controls and fair labor practices can compete with countries not doing those things.
That is why there are tariffs, to stop race to the bottom. And I still have an issue with the use of race to the top, if it is being used to bust up unions, and not for what it is for. There has to be a stopping of the concept that the price of goods is all that matter, and that requires things like tariffs, and educating the population why some forms of productions are taxed. Something you are not doing by not understanding tariffs, or lying for corporate controlled money first system.
Free trade is only free in that it is all about money. Do you see the irony.
Although I have explained many things you have not mentioned, you don't get the last word for completely ignoring the entire topic of tariffs to only see money.
Can you comprehend the reason for such a thing? Or do you not discuss stopping race to the bottom becuase you believe in it?
