6. To Christian fundamentalists all Episcopalians are "bad Episcopalians"
Edited on Sat May-21-11 09:31 AM by Rowdyboy
Had an ugly confrontation with a Presbyterian minister once over whether we were even Christian since we "ordain perverts". This guy led a church of several thousand at the time. They don't consider us part of the "flock"

Actually, now I'm a practicing atheist, I'll bring the mimosas. Must have those at a Sunday brunch.

7. My Baptist church taught us Episcopalians might have well not gone to church.
In other words, worthless and clueless. That was part of our annual indoctrination course. With all great detail, it was explained how all denominations except ours, were deluded. Since my recovery, I've found a number of Episcopalians to be worthwhile and faithful friends, well-informed and good community activists. They are not wild-eyed libertines and take their beliefs just as strongly as the most loud-mouthed, hellfire pastor claiming to have found the light. The media-hungry preachers implode upon themselves by committing all the classic sins in the realm of sex, gluttony and greed.

10. Thanks for the back-up......
I joined about 15 years ago. I've found Episcops to be an odd bunch, warm and non-judgemental but perhaps a bit reserved. And our priest is an extremely anti-war liberal which is really interesting here in Mississippi

11. OOOOhhhh that looks so good.
There is this place in San Diego, near the Yacht Harbor, called The Red Sail Inn. Eating crab Benedict on their back patio is the bomb!

This week, it's sponsored by Osama's Homo-Pot-Jizzporium, and they make the BEST brownies....
