Years ago Paul had a pacemaker put in to control his heartbeat (which dropped to dangerous levels when he was sleeping) and a valve job to repair a mitrovalve prolapse. Everything seemed to be going well but in the last few months he started getting very tired very easily. He went to the doctor who scheduled him for a sleep test. They found that he had apnea while in REM sleep and thought that a C-PAP machine would help. It hasn't. He went to his regular doctor yesterday and the doctor was listening to his heart and heard strange beats. They hooked him up to an EKG and found he did indeed have something going on. He took the readings to his cardiologist and now they'll have to determine how to proceed.
I thought the stress was bad when they did the other work. Now I get to start it all over again. Thanks for listening to me whine. :)
Irregular beats are scary. But at least you know why he is feeling so tired, poor circulation/cardiac output, plus sleep apnea. Sorry the C-PAP hasn't helped. Good wishes to both of you.
On the one hand the good news is you have insurance (I assume here) and he can get help. Lots and lots of Americans can't say that. On the other hand when they talk heart or cancer, it gets scary. Best wishes to you both.
