Hate her if you want, but if your kids are bugging you for a copy of her new album, you might as well get it cheap.

1. I would but I already own a copy of Madonna's "Like a Prayer" album
:eyes:

Actually for 99 cents, if my laptop wasn't in the shop being repaired I probably would buy it.

3. But Gaga actually has a decent voice.
The SNL eps seh's done have shown off her voice a capella. She can sing better now at her tender age than Madonna can after YEARS of vocal coaching.

I don't necessarily like the *style* of music she does, but I can't deny her obvious talent.

6. Interestingly, "Like a Prayer" was about the last time that Madonna was relevant IIRC

And holy moley the video for that crap-fest of a song got played to death. I scarcely watched MTV or VH1 back then, and I still saw her desperate "look at me!" plea for controversy about 700 times each day.

I've simply never understood the frenzied fetish for novelty, as though only something that's brand new can be good or interesting. We see that same sentiment in the Lounge almost constantly, with people decrying Hollywood's "lack of creativity," as though sequels or adaptations or derivative plots are a recent development.

Heck, why don't you crank up the Victrola and lend an ear to the hit parade? Everything you need musically is right there on your 78s!

4. The kid has an excellent voice.
Madonna has always had a mediocre voice.

I was told that Lady Gaga's mentor is Cyndi Lauper. Cyndi has a beautiful voice as well. Just listen to "Time After Time" if you have not already.

12. The CD is bad
So even .99 cents is too much. Very disappointed in her CD.
