What do you do for a sick girlfriend?
I'm terrible at these things, though I can raise plants and livestock.

She's got a sore throat, and is sick as a dog.

I feel so bad for her.

2. That is a good idea
I feel so helpless when confronted with a wonderful woman that is ill.

And she is so wonderful, but she's obviously not feeling well.

3. What the hell kind of question is this???
You do everything for her. Make her rest while you fix her meals and walk her dog and stuff. Whatever she needs, you do.

It's pretty easy actually.

4. That seems obvious to you
but she's pretty proud.

Then again, maybe I'm an idiot.

5. No....you aren't an idiot.....
sorry to be a jerk, it just seemed obvious....she's miserable so do everything for her :)

When my wife is sick I would stop the Earth's rotation if she wanted me to, if it would help her feel better :)

If she's too proud to ask for you to do stuff, just be there and comfort her and try to pick up subtle suggestions that might help her feel better. Just being there and being supportive is really what counts.

6. Making soup would probably be a good idea?
I'm asking because I don't know. I'm about as nurturing as a cactus, but I'm trying to learn. She's pretty much the most awesome thing that ever happened to me, and I want to show her that, even when she's ill.

8. Making soup is a great idea...if she likes soup...
I would try to find out what's worrying her, and take care of that, if I could...

10. Just had a sore throat that turned into a cold.
Encourage frequent gargling w hot salt water or listerine-type mouth wash, provide fever reducers (aspirin/acetominophen/+), tea, chicken or other clear soups. Encourage rest.

11. I'm making her some chicken soup
and a hot toddy. I know she probably doesn't need that, but her voice is awfully hoarse.

18. Hoarse voice suggests congestion, so hot stuff useful.
Also cough med with guaifenesin, an expectorant, which helps move the stuff out.
Good luck.

20. Throat remedy given to Leon Russell by Elton John
when he came to the U.S. in 1970- (as heard on interview of Leon Russell, whose voice sounds like someone would offer him this advice ;))

•1 spoonful cider vinegar
•1 spoonful honey
•1 cup of water as warm as you can stand

"Gargle for a minute- you'll be surprised at what comes out of your throat."

12. Chicks like to feel all strong and independent - so pretend like you don't notice
In fact, this would be a good time to ask her to do some sort of onerous favor for you - she'll appreciate the fact that you respect her abilities.

Also, if she makes any weird coughing, choking or snorting noises you should make fun of her - not only do broads like guys with a sense of humor, they're extra-attracted to dudes who are kind of mean.

HTH!

15. Chicken soup is a nice gesture, wash any dishes left in the sink.
Bring her some cold meds if you can afford them. At least a box of Aloe klenex. A little fussing over her will go a long way.
