I went white water canoeing when I was 17. We did the Dumoine River in Quebec. You stop at each set of rapids, look at the map of the rapids, pick your route, tie everything down in the canoe and go. We were going so fast it was like driving on a highway in that a tiny little bit of stearing results in a big change of direction. I was fortunate to have a skilled sternman. We did 70 miles and never once dunked into the water. It was like a log boom at an amusement park. Adrenaline +++. Then on the day we finished and were on the drive home we pulled into a grocery store to get some eats (after a week of campfire food we were famished). I bought a can of ready-made icing and ate it straight out of the can. LOL!
