But other then that, I do not post on any other political boards.

i never posted there but i used to skim from time to time, just sick of the absolute feeblemindedness of some of the yokels out there

it really makes you doubt the validity of the human race that there can be so many idiots!

5. I talk about politics here and there...
..but DU is the only actual message board I post on that's dedicated to politics. I do post on a private forum, but that's dedicated to horror and sci-fi movies. Other than that and Facebook, DU is the only place I post.

6. Wonkette. I just enjoy the snark. I don't try to compete.
I know my limitations in the art of evil.

7. I used to participate in the occasional Fark politics thread
However, the level of discussion on Fark dropped so badly that it seems like people now just go there to post vaguely-related pop culture references, and not to discuss ideas. I still look but there's usually nothing worth saying.

14. don't know of any, can't tolerate the "mixed" discussions, 2 many wingnuts
in the real world, most people are decent and there is a reasonable number of progressive or idealistic people but get online and it seems like most places you're shouted down by the truly whacky whackjobs

i'm glad DU provides a haven because i haven't really encountered another discussion forum, that is very active, that doesn't have a certain amount of wingnuttery and i'm just tired of the stupids

16. I like Liberal Conspiracy
Edited on Sat Jul-16-11 04:34 PM by LeftishBrit
http://liberalconspiracy.org/about-us/

UK-based, but may be of broader interest.

The 38 Degrees site is where I go for information about British grassroots activism and ongoing campaigns. May be too UK-oriented for most people here; but here is the link:

www.38degrees.org.uk

The international organization Avaaz has less discussion, but lots of important campaigns:

17. I might sound like a giant nerd but...
I used to post in the News & Politics section on StarDestroyer.net, which DORK ALERT, is a site dedicated towards having Star Trek vs. Star Wars debates.

This might not be the first place you'd think would have good political debate, but sci-fi nerds apparently have very well-informed and cogent political and policy arguments to make.

And interestingly enough, there were some good political discussions over on the AV Club comment threads, whenever a topic would veer off into current events and away from pop culture.

It's like having a messageboard with 100M other people.

Open invite, my Twitter name is in my sig line.
