I have a fever right now but..

my nazi supervisors at work couldn't care less. How long do most fevers last? I've had a doozy for almost 3 days now... no cold, sore throat, flu, etc- just bad fever...

A fever for three days? Even without other symptoms, this could be something serious. Get yourself to a clinic pronto.

Call your health care provider if

There is stiffness of the neck, confusion, significant irritability, or sluggishness.
An infant younger than 6 months has any fever.
A child between 6 months and 1 year old has a fever that has lasted more than 24 hours.
The fever remains above 103 degrees Fahrenheit after an hour or two of home treatment.
The fever has not gone away in two days.
If you think you may have incorrectly dosed the acetaminophen or ibuprofen.
Anyone with a temperature above 105 degrees Fahrenheit should be examined for heat illness, stroke, or drug overdose.

ok, i think i definitely do need to be seen- i feel like crap.. dizzy, stiff neck, etc..

6. If you are still on line

and have not called a doctor, do it RIGHT NOW. A stiff neck can be a symptom of meningitis.

4. Fever is a symptom

of your body fighting off infection. If you've had one for three days, you likely need some antibiotics. I wouldn't let it go any longer without seeing a doctor. Also, make sure you are drinking plenty of fluids so that you don't add dehydration to your problems.

As for your supervisors, say that you need to leave before you infect all of your fellow co-workers and then they'll even be worse off.
