What are YOU doing to register voters???
30 % of adult citizens DID NOT vote in 2000.

We need to register people to VOTE. There is a vast untapped Democratic majority out there just waiting to be ACTIVATED!! We can WIN if we register and get out the vote.

Document your VOTER REGISTRATION EFFORTS HERE!!

I am particularly enthused by registering new voters and ex-felons.
Which groups are YOU targetting in your register to vote efforts?

1. I plan on going to a few local colleges
I might go to local colleges and universities and go to some football games and see if anybody is interested in registering to vote. If not, I'll tell them something that will encourage them to register. The thing is, I don't know what I tell them. Any ideas?

2. I just got sworn in...
...as an official voter registrar along with a few others from a local peace group. They regularly have registration tables at local farmers' markets and the like, and I'll help staff the table when I can. The important thing to remember is to go to events where OUR voters are, not THEIRS. It does us little good to register unregistered voters if they're Republican unregistered voters.

5. People vote for a REASON, and they register to vote for a REASON.
It's no secret that when we register people to vote, no matter where we find them, they are more than a majority Democrats.

People have a REASON for voting this time, as opposed to the time when the economy was good, unemployed people were getting jobs, and we had all our Constitutional rights.

NOW IS THE TIME!!

6. I registered
My Dad (who has never voted in his life!) and a friend at school. People do not get interested until they learn about the issues. The best place to get people registered: College.

7. Keep registration forms with you wherever you go!
As the one poster said, 'Just in everyday living you would be surprised!'

You don't even have to go out of your way! My hair stylist isn't registered. I'm getting a LARGE quantity myself this week and going to hand them out wherever I go as well!

Even if each one of us registered only one.. what would that add to our numbers? :) :hi:

I'm also thinking along the lines of having a cheat sheet printed to hand out about voting, ALL candidates and maybe some internet sites where info can be found as starting points for those who HAVE BEEN 'out of the loop'.

Good luck everyone!!!
