Activists to commemorate I Have a Dream speech in Kings hometown

Exactly four decades after the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. spoke the famous words, I Have a Dream, thousands are expected to commemorate his historic speech Thursday in the slain leaders hometown.

This is Dr. Kings home and the cradle of the civil rights movement, so thats what makes it so special, said Frank Catroppa, superintendent of the MLK National Historic Site, which is organizing the event with the MLK March Committee.

The day will begin with a march through Atlantas historic Sweet Auburn district, where King grew up and preached, and end with a rally at the MLK National Historic Site. Rep. John Lewis, who helped organize the original March on Washington in 1963, will deliver the keynote address.
