Shop to Drop Bush --- web site
I just launched with the aim of raising 10,000,000 to dump the chump.

It is an affiliate marketting sight, which means that you go to stores like Amazon and Dell through it, and they send the site a percent of what you spend in their stores.

Please check it out, and if you are thinking of buying anything from Amazon (or anywhere else onl-line) in the next week or so, please go there through .

Thanks. I'm hoping our first donation will go to DU. Any ideas of how we could spend $1,000.

1. the site was freeped
Edited on Fri Oct-31-03 07:43 AM by msanger
and we got 6000 hits in a single day. And most of those hits led to the freepers calling Amazon and Dell, and all the other merchants.

Some of the merchants dropped out,and some stayed. Those who stayed will still be paying the site a "commission."

I talked to a lawyer at the DNC yesterday, and she said that we can donate up to $25,000 to the DNC a year. It is just a donation from a business.

I've changed the goal from $10,000,000 (which is actually feasable if enough people got behind the idea) to $4,000 - which still requires a bunch of folks to support the effort.

The only problem with the site is that there is no reason for anybody to trust me - I could just take the money and run. My friends trust me, and I hope that some of the folks here on DU feel the same way.

So if you every shop on-line, and want to drop bush, please check out the site.

thanks

3. An even better site
iGive.com

It lets you shop around hundreds of sites, and a portion of your shopping goes to the charity of your choice (even the DNC). And if you choose to donate your money to a cause that makes donations tax-deductible, you can write it off on your taxes!!

It's a great site, run by great people.

5. what is your cut?
i hope you don't take offense at the question but when you first launched i remember thinking that your cut seemed pretty high. have you revised that?

also, if people want to buy from Amazon, they can use the logo link
on the home page http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0446532231/democraticund-20

and the commision will go directly to DU with no middleman.
