Topeka Protest details - May 17
Protest Bush in Topeka, KS - May 17 - Bush to speak at Brown vs. Board of Education Commemoration. The Brown vs. Board of Education Commemorative Event is scheduled to run from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Monday, May 17, 2004. Bus service from a large parking lot at the Kansas Expocentre (located at SW 21st St & SW Topeka Blvd, Topeka, KS, 66611) will commence starting at 8 a.m. and ending at 10:15 a.m. The busses will ferry people to and from the event and to the Free Speech Zone in Cushingberry Park. Anyone wishing to protest the visit by the President and the neo-Nazis (who have decided to show up - see link - http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4880432/ will need to be there relatively early to ensure a bus ride. The "Free Speech Zone" will be at Cushingberry Park at 15th and Madison. The ranger says that we will be able to bring signs on the bus, etc., but those carrying signs will be restricted to Cushingberry Park. There will be bus pickup at Cushingberry Park both before and after the event. Bus pickup after the event will commence about 1:30 p.m. and go until 4 p.m. or until everyone that wants a ride back to the Kansas Expocentre gets one. Questions call Heidi at 316-284-5610. We will try to start the demonstration by 10:30 am.

1. ironic
Bush would have been for segregaton had be been president 50 years ago. All that his kind stand for is bigotry, oppression, and hate. He never would have appointed justices to the court that would have ended segregation, and he would never have passed such a politicaly volatile act such as the Civil Rights Act, enforcing Brown.
