reading, shopping, convincing people to vote...
A group of friends and I run a website and we are building animated e-cards that confront people with the facts and issues of Bush's so-called 'presidency' and his administration. We are also trying to build a book resource for those of you who are interested in buying or reading books about Bush's failure in the White House. The website also offers some cool merchandise which will hopefully help advertize to get people taking action this coming election.

Please have a look and offer any suggestions for topics we may cover in the e-cards (there are several dealing with a range of issues, a couple of new ones, too), books for the book list, or anything else. We want to hear from members of DU.

Thanks for your help and feedback!

be sure to point out somehow how the person is LOSING money...or how it is COSTING them money. people in the states hold money closer to their heart than do their god . . ..

and don't preach to the choir...as the saying may go. talk to people that have different views than your own. reach out to them. jabberwocking with your mates won't accomplish much. you'll just agree and do nothing about it. get some other at least thinking about these things . . ..

7. quite right
That's a good point, and the main thrust of our website. We recognize that WE are not the audience here. We are trying to appeal to people on a few different levels, and they are meant to reach the widest possible ambivalent or persuasion-worthy viewer. We want and NEED to convince anyone who can be 'swung' from a lack of position to an active position, no matter WHAT issue it is that gets them there. So...we're trying to dabble in as many issues as we can.

It's been hard for us at times to keep our own, more radical views out of the site content. We have to constantly tell ourselves that persuasion is a difficult and careful tactic, and one which, to be effective, must be more of a 'massage' than a hit with a board! :)

sometimes that blatant "punch" to your dial is needed though. wakes you up. might not change your mind, but you'll for sure be thinking about it for awhile. that's what counts see, have to get in their head . . ..
