Dear President Bush,

An 18 Year Old American Teen Has Figured It Out, Have You?

In a nation where the poor and old cannot afford health care, in a
nation where the economy is falling apart, in a nation where 15 percent
of people live below the poverty line, in a nation where hundreds of
thousands are homeless, in a nation where the entire media system is
owned by only six media mega conglomerates, in a nation with the world's
highest crime rate, in a nation with the world's largest prison
population, in a nation where half of all marriages end in divorce, in a
nation where 25% of kids under 12 live
in poverty, in a nation where the gulf between the rich and poor is
growing everyday, in a nation that supports dictatorships in Saudi,
Egypt, and Turkey, in a nation where the government is full of
corruption and fascism, in a nation where 40 percent of the homeless are
VETERANS, in a nation with one of the world's highest teen suicide and
stress rates, and you're telling me our biggest problems are TERRORISM
and DRUGS?

This is why Howard Dean, like "St.Paul" Tsongas will never win a damn thing. John Kerry is the only one in this race with enough broad support and broad issues to appeal and fix ALL of these problems, not just two or three.

Kerry has loud voices and low blows to compensate for Dean's numbers.

Kerry is the darling of the politically connected. So if you want "same 'ol, same 'ol" vote Kerry.

Vote Bush back into office.

But who said they were going to vote for Bush? Did I miss something? :shrug:

He gets letters too, and THIS is really one that Kerry should read. Was Vietnam really that long ago, Mr. Kerry?:

Dear Dr. Dean:

I know this isn't exactly on topic, but I need a place to put this.

My friend died today.

My best friend, Lance Corporal Gregory MacDonald of the United States Marine Corp died in Iraq when his vehicle overturned while rushing to aid a group of fellow Marines who were being ambushed.

I met Greg when we were both in graduate school at American University. He was studying Arabic and Near East affairs with a focus on the Palestian-Israeli conflict and Iraq.

During the entire build-up to the war in Iraq, Greg argued forcefully and logically that the case being outlined was false and not consistent with any expert opinion on the subject. He was also a man in the finest tradition the USMC has ever produced, and when called to serve with his Recon unit (one of the most dangerous positions, even for the USMC), he did not hesitate to answer the call of duty.

As a final act defiance before setting out to fight a war he knew was wrong, Greg was interviewed on the radio explaining why the President had not made his case for war. He did the interview on condition of anonymity because he did not want his fellow Marines to think he wasn't 100 percent committed to their mission.

Dr. Dean, we need you more than ever. Something is wrong with this country when our best warrior-philosophers are thrown into the cauldren of Iraq by a President who went AWOL from national guard duty. Something is wrong with this country when an actual expert on the subject of Iraq is sent to war by a cynical, unscupulous Vice President who had "other priorities" when it came his turn to serve.

I'm tired of the chickenhawks who lie while our best men pay the consequences.

Greg told me many times that he would support any candidate who stood up forcefully against this war because it was wrong and was not sold on evidence, but lies and ideology.

Greg would have supported you, Dr. Dean.

And I support you Dr. Dean, because I can think of no other way to better honor the memory of a man ten times greater than our President, even when he plays dress-up in a flight suit - unintentially mocking those who fought and died in uniform.

Am I missing something? This does not seem to be addressed to Mr. Kerry nor does it seem that Mr. Kerry had anything to do with it. Was it sent to him along with it being sent to Bush?

So the 18 year old sees the problems, I do not see anything in this letter that shows how Mr. Kerry will deal with the issues he has brought up. I also do not see anything to suggest that Dr. Dean could not deal with these issues. I think I am missing your point.

Please do not take this as an attack on Kerry, but I do not see any support for the argument you make in your final two sentences. If you could provide more information, I would appreciate it.

Or, is SGrande the author? I'm confused....
