Nader should run for congress

That is of course, assuming he actually wanted to change things for the better; assuming he really cared about the future of this country. He could make a difference. He could actually get elected and make a difference. However, that involves real work; not just sitting on the sidelines and criticizing those who dedicate their lives to making a real difference, like The Nation and the DU.

Please, for the sake of the young men and women who will die in Iraq if the chickenhawk gets reelected; please Ralph, DROP OUT !!!!!

But if he really is serious about changing the country, why doesn't he run for Congress? He knows he'll never win a presidential election, so why not prove all his naysayers wrong and against an entrenched Republican. He could run against Nancy Johnson, who doesn't have a Republican opponent yet (Nader's from CT, correct?)

That would be something.

Of course, someone would surely put anthrax in his office and that would be the end of him. :^(

First, Nader lives in Washington, D.C. -- which doesnt even have statehood.
Second, Nader won't run a campaign financed by corporate donors or special interest. So, he doesn't support the democratic party, since they take corporate money.
Third, there is nothing that prohibits a person running as president outside of a political party. Nader has never been a member of any poltical party, so this makes sense.

If you don't think that Nader has been doing hard work, you are misinformed and I would urge you to take a look at his nader page website. Nader has worked hard his whole life - so that is not a sound argument against Nader.

If there is no political compettition in this country, the political process corrupts. Look at these dismal primaries, to understand this point. You could just as easily urge Kerry or Bush, both who supported the invasion of Iraq, to drop out of the race. That would make more sense, anyways.
