A group of Veterans were promised 20 tickets to attend the upcoming Aug 12 Democratic Presential forum in Oklahoma City. The ODP (Oklahoma Democratic Party) now will not send us our promised twenty tickets.
These Veterans have worked hard as volunteers in the past, but once again Vets are offered only lip service from political parties. After the election we are forgotten. We have asked the candidates that will attend the forum for help and have recieved no help from them what so ever.
We have since learned the snub came because Kerry will not attend the forum and the ODP thought the Veterans might be disruptive.
For years Democrats have been trying to get Veteran support. This little action in Oklahoma will set the ODP back on Veteran issues 20 years.

We must reach out to everyone. When we went to see Dennis Kucinich Friday night we spoke with the translater/signer that was there. She told us that when Chaney had been there they did not have a signer and it was an insult to the deaf community. Little things can make a big difference.
