Lieberman losing ground in homestate; Dean gaining in Conn.
Senator Joe Lieberman is losing ground in his homestate of Connecticut according to a new statewide poll.
Here are the results:
Lieberman: 37% (down from 46% in May)
Kerry 17% (down from 18% in May)
Dean 17% (up from 6% in May)
Gephardt 8% (down from 9% in May)
Mosley Braun 4% (up from 1%)
Edwards 3%
Sharpton 3%
Graham 2%
Kucinich less than 1%

Lieberman has lost nine-points in his homestate since May, while Dean has surged 11-points gaining nearly three times the support he had in May, 2003.

If Mrs. Clinton got into the race Lieberman would actually lose his homestate by a 33-23 percent margin.

Bush's approval rating is 54% positive and 41% negative in Connecticut.

However, he beats all of our candidates at this point:
Bush vs. Lieberman 47-44 Bush
Bush vs. Kerry 49-43 Bush
Bush vs. Gep 53-39 Bush
Bush vs. Clinton 53-38
Bush vs. Dean 53-38

Don't despair though according to the Quinnipiac Poll archives George W. Bush was leading Al Gore in Connecticut as late as October, 1999 by 52-37 percent--Gore went on to defeat Bush in a landslide in November, 2000.

1. No landslide in 2000. Gore had a 1/2+ million popular vote win
and he should have been given Florida for the win in the electorial collage.

2. I'm refering to the state of Connecticut being a landslide for Gore
by a margin of more than 250,000 votes for Gore.

4. We're working hard here in Connecticut to get Dean's name and message
out.

I wear my Dean button every day, except at work, and in every store I go to.

Norwich, CT Meetup is at the Seaport Coffee Roasters in Groton this Wednesday. Those in Eastern CT, especially the New London area, please come.

5. looks like you guys are doing a great job!!
from 6% to 17% tied for second with Kerry--HD has the momentum. If Hillary Clinton can beat Lieberman in Conn. I think HD has the potential to as well.
