Kerry supporters- your blog needs you!
The Kerry folks have put up a great site with a blog. Unfortunately, their blog is being polluted by trolls, mostly posing as Dean supporters. It's gotten really ugly, and it appears that the Kerry campaign can't manage to get it under control. If they don't deal with it soon, the blog will die, and it would be a terrible loss for them.

Dean supporters like myself have tried to explain what's happening, that these are trolls who have found a vulnerable new site where they can play on peoples emotions and whip up fights between Kerry and Dean people. Unfortunately, the scene is now so antagonistic, that any "help" from the Dean camp would be percieved as trolling. Some of us have been corresponding off blog with Kerry people who have posted on the Dean site about the problem.

If you spend time here on DU and you are a KERRY SUPPORTER ONLY, you've probably refined your BS detectors and can help them reign in this problem. If you're a moderator, and a KERRY SUPPORTER ONLY , your input would be really helpful. Help them understand that they need to ban IPs, delete posts, whatever it takes.

(Dean supporters and all others need to STAY OFF the blog. No posting of apologies, nothing, it's all pollution at this point.)

Hope they can pull it out of the mire.

1. Very Well Put
I think I have a pretty good BS detector, but I wouldn't know an IP from an IWR. I've posted twice, and generally ignore the trollish denizens.

Censoring that board! I wonder if the campaign guys are reading it and just letting it slide.

3. I feel the need to voice support for the Kerry blog.
I'm a Dean supporter, and these people posing as fellow Deanies are really $#%@&! making me mad. Giving us a bad name. Joe Trippi has come-out on the Dean blog asking people not to engage in these sorts of acts; it's just my guess here, but most Deanies support Dean enough to respect Trippi's wishes. I'd guess that after Dean, Trippi is second in the fame/respect column within that campaign.

And despite my status as a Deanie, we ALL need that Kerry blog. We don't know who the nominee will be at this point, and we need all of the potential nominees to be as strong as possible so that when the nominating process is over, we'll be ready for the Chimp. A healthy blog is part of the formula for strength. Grassroots will be our strength. I hope this gets under control, and I'm sending good vibes in the direction of the Kerry blog.

Cheers! (and I hope that made sense)

5. we realize the majority of Dean people are not like this
But that few that are REALLY get my ire up. What can be done? (I realize these people might actually be Repubs...)

I try to ignore them, but there was this one who claimed to be there trying to get people to switch to Dean, but all he ever did, over and over, was to post the number of people who showed up at a Dean rally, as if WE were the sheeple! And we should blindly follow him! What an idiot!

6. Glad you're onto it. It's so irritating, tho...
The person who was doing the cut n' paste trolling was copying other people's entries from the Dean blog, without their permission. It was really a disaster. I think the Kerry blog finally banned him. Dean bloggers suspect the same troll was plagueing the Dean blog.

There *were* a few misguided Dean supporters trying to debate, but at this point, it's just way too sensitive there to have outsiders coming in.

All that arguing is what DU is here for! LOL
