Undecided in the lead!

I am for Undecided because clearly they are the best. Polls in every state show Undecided in the lead. Undecided is also doing well against Bush in the National Polls.

I am tired of people with all the polls. I have not made up my mind. Undecided is leading because when people like me come into places like DU to get some good information on the candidates but all they get are posts bashing the other candidates. I have all the reasons "not" to vote for Clark, Dean, Lieberman, and the others. What I don't have is information on who to vote for.

Until people here in DU give me positive information on their candidate of choice I will be committed to Undecided as my candidate for choice. Nobody has bashed on Undecided and if the candidate that is least bashed is how we decide than he/she is my choice.

The best thing to do is to check out the candidiates yourself. On the main page of DU on the left there is a section DEMS 2004 with links to the candidates web sites. Check 'em out.

because I'd rather watch the candidates myself on C-Span and read their web sites directly.

All nine should just quit and let undecided run against Bush. Undecided would win too. Or perhaps it that most people have no idea who they would vote for and, as usual, the winner will be next year's surprise dark horse.

Maybe the winner is not even in the race yet. Maybe Hillary, Gore or even Clark will enter and take the nomination. I remember when in 1992 nobody thought anyone could beat Bush Sr. So Cuomo decided not to run. Clinton entered the race late and won the nomination and later won the presidential election and re-election in 1996. So it is possible for someone who is not even in the race now to win the nomination.

I've actually made my decisions about the candidates by watching C-Span and checking out the web sites and reading the articles people post. So that's the value I find in DU as far as the candidates go, it's not so much anybody's opinion, but the volumes of information that gets posted that leads them to their opinion.

And welcome! Sometimes you have to shovel alot of shit to find that pony, but believe me, there's a pony here on DU.

It is so much better than watching Fox News or CNN. They seem to be too slanted to the right.

I am happy to supply you with information on the candidate of my choice without offering anything negative about anyone else. I feel that a candidate's stand on issues, along with their electability and personal leadership qualities, should determine for whom we choose to vote. I don't think it is enough for someone to have good ideas. They have to have the personal charisma and drive to get elected to get those ideas put in place. I also am pro-Edwards because I think that he presents the most clear contrast to Bush.

In a November 2002 speech at the Fortune Global Forum, Senator Edwards called for a "new ethic of economic responsibility," and urged both parties in Washington to curtail excessive spending and eliminate tax giveaways to special interests and the wealthy.

Senator Edwards called for a new economic policy based on three principles that reflect the lessons of the last 20 years - one, that fiscal discipline is key to establishing an economic climate in which business can flourish; two, the private sector is the engine that drives economic growth, but we all drive faster with rules for the road; and three, everyone who works hard deserves the opportunity to share in prosperity.

To help Americans meet their immediate economic needs, Senator Edwards has called for an energy tax credit to help families pay their heating bills this winter, as well as an extension in unemployment benefits and aid to states that are now raising taxes and laying off police and firefighters.

Senator Edwards also believes we must return to fiscal responsibility. He has repeatedly called for delaying additional tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans, and believes the tax cuts for middle income families should be permanent. The Senator has also called for increasing the estate tax exemption to $7 million per family to protect small businesses and farmers, but not a complete repeal of the estate tax.

Senator Edwards called upon Congress to trim the federal workforce outside national security by 10% over the next decade and shut down federal agencies that have outlived their usefulness, and get rid of pork in the budget and close down special interest loopholes.

Anyway, I think another good tool is to look for videos of candidates speaking. You can get them off the web sometimes. If you are only familiar with someone in print, it makes it difficult to get a personal feel for them. I have seen Edwards speak and he really does have an incredible ability to connect with the people he is addressing. I also watched him in the televised debate and was really impressed with his performance.

He is from the south too. I think that would be good for pulling states away from Bush.

I am so excited to find a candidate who stands for what I believe is so important to change this world around....I like the way Dennis speaks out for what he believes in- regardless of whether it is politically expedient. He is couragous and deeply cares about everyone- not just the corporate rich. He is taking no money from big corporations and having actually met the man...I cannot say enough good about him. He is for real- not in any way a "politican".


on edit- I forgot to mention he's in favor of universal healthcare- has a single payer plan that doesn't cost more than what is currently being paid & yet will coever everyone...

improved education...preschool through highshool...well...there is so much that is good....

I like that in a candidate. Do you think he could win Ohio? Ohio is a battleground state. If Gore won Ohio in 2000 he would be in the White House. Of course he won Florida and still did not get those votes. Thank you for the welcome.

To answer your question (like I have answers LOL)...I am not in Ohio & have heard that he will or no way he won't carry Ohio- I think its too soon to know...so much can change in this race. If he could- yeah, thats be a nice chunk of votes for the Dems.....favorite son vote and all....
