Good news in Nevada
LAS VEGAS –– Rep. Jim Gibbons has decided not to challenge Democratic Sen. Harry Reid next year in what was expected to be one of the most hotly contested races for the U.S. Senate.

Gibbons, R-Nev., said Monday that his desire to work on House committees against terrorism prompted him not to seek the nomination.

This is really good, because I can't think of any other viable challengers off the top of my head to knock off Reid. Anyone else planning on running that we know about?

1. According to politics1.com
Cherie Tilley is running. She is a "Mining Company Safety Director." Rich Ziser, an "Anti-Gay Activist, Ex-Businessman & '98 Clark County School Board Candidate," may also run.

<sarcasm>Wow, Harry Reid is in big trouble now!</sarcasm>

2. Governor Kenny Guinn won in a landslide
but I hear he's pretty unpopular now. supposedly the Secretary of State is popular but he doesn't appear too interested. Reid is pretty much a shoo-in now.
